The Rafe clan has long lost their ability to shift into their true wolf form. Akira Rafe is one of the few people who is still born with a wolf. Only every seven years, one person is given the honour to release the animal inside their chest. This year, it is Akira's turn to become the Winter Wolf. But for this once in a life time ritual, she needs the blessing from the Winter Stone. Which has gone missing. Just her luck.
The storm might have passed, but it left a path of destruction behind. Akira desperately wants to pick up the pieces and make everything right, but what if Aspen won't let her? How will the latest disaster affect Akira's bond with the group and if she gets the option of sharing the twins, will she actually be able to do it?
This book is written predominantly in British but does have American words in the mix. You will see me use the British spelling for words like "colour" and "flavour", but I also use skillets and pans, pants and trousers.

Breaking, Installment 4 of the My Winter Wolf is by far the most intense episode yet. Picking up immediately after Cece's death, Aspen is under the control of his Alpha. If Akira can't pull him back, he will be lost forever. Unfortunately, she has no idea how to reach him. Aspen's fragile state isn't the only danger to the group. Blood will be spilled. I liked that Akira paid some attention to Aspen this book. She has been focused completely on her first mate, Ashleigh, and Aspen has been largely ignored. I feel that he needs her just as much as his sister does and I want to see the bond secured with all three. It's clear that Akira is important to Aspen and his wolf's survival with the Alpha. Aspen is key to the group's survival, but more importantly I want to see him and Ashleigh learn to share one more time. Akira's true happiness will be found only if she is with both twins equally in my opinion.
Volume 4 was almost my favorite so far (Volume 1 I think still takes the cake because Aspen is adorable in his wolf form!!). I am happy to see this part of the serial get back on track, it was fun to read (barely could put it down). I thought Arizona did a great job with the battle scenes and describing the internal struggle Aspen is dealing with. I could imagine how the wolves interact with each other almost spiritually, with all the vivid imagery Arizona provides. I am hoping to see more growth from Akira and some relief for Aspen (and hopefully some kissing/action between the two!) I think this story has amazing potential, can't wait for Volume 5 :)
Love this serial. Spoilers ahead! In the last installment I had started wonder why Akira had all but forgotten her original mission and in Breaking this gets addressed and if I am correct there is some foreshadowing involved. I really really want Akira to have her cake and eat it to with her mates. She is so drawn to Ashleigh but I feel like Aspen really needs her. I absolutely love Akira's inner monologue. It cracks me up. I'd really like to see Akira come into her own and not be so damsel in distress.

Akira gets back on the road again to continue her travels East. Akira is also trying to help Aspen deal with his Alpha and the fallout with his actions from the last book. I liked that Akira and Aspen' s relationship seemed to grow in this installment, although she is still torn between the twins.
This is the fourth volume in a serial. Akira is desperately trying to get through to Aspen. She is also struggling with the fact that both twins are her mates. Will her mistakes ruin their bond and her new friendships? Can't wait for the next one.
I absolutely love this serial. The author is able to suck you in and leave you wanting more. I really enjoy how this author is able to bring in a new and interesting dynamic to shifters!!
With the help of her new friends Akira is back on the hunt for the wolf relic, but she is still torn between her two mates and one needs her help desperately
Part four of this serial is as well written and exciting as the earlier parts and I am excited for part five
I started this series on a rainy day last week and read 1-5 in 1 sitting as i could not put it down. loved the characters from start to finish and cant wait for more to come.
Just started and already done! Lol a lot of fighting in this one and another stall, are these the coyotes who stole the stone? Probably so so on to the next book to find out
Breaking is jam packed full of action and Tape takes us on the journey beautifully! This fourth installment shows us sides of Akira's ragtag gang that haven't been seen before. From Aspen's alpha to J.P's hidden talents, it's shaping up to be one hell of journey, perhaps one that Akira herself hadn't bargained for... An amazing installment in the My Winter Wolf series!
