Learning Together offers an overview of the college and career readiness standards with an emphasis on classroom practice, assessment and district planning. Plus, we've included the voices of actual teachers, discussing their journey to the Core. The e-book illustrates how teachers now teach, and how students now learn.
The multimedia presentation is really three guides in one—a digital onion—that readers peel back to reveal more PD resources. We've cherry-picked high-value sites like yours for readers to explore, produced 16 videos, plus tacked on planning documents districts can adopt and modify for their own CCRS implementation. Sample video clip available via publisher's web site.
It's the perfect resource for school, state or district-wide CCRS's professional development. The e-format allows for easy access in the classroom, at home, or during in-service for the first-year or twenty-year teaching professional beginning their Common Core transition.
Our mission was to find teachers beginning to implement the CCRS. We wanted to document their teaching as well as their developing knowledge and skills. This led us to Pasco County, Florida. With the assistance of district leadership, we observed and interviewed six teachers.
“You could read the ebook cover to cover or you could take a prescriptive approach. Chapter 2 is exciting since it is about strategies. This chapter should be “dog eared” and highlighted! The videos were effective showing CCRS in action. Each clip was focused and concise. Readers will find the videos useful in implementing the CCRS.” --Jen Moore, PD Specialist, Pasco County Florida
