Nick and Keisha's story continues. How do you get your life on track again?
It's the question facing Nick and Keisha now that she's taken up residence in his guest house. While they navigate the unspoken rules of their living arrangements, their friendship blossoms.
But will Keisha's ex-boyfriend cause problems for them? And can a drunken kiss throw Nick and Keisha off-course?
I grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and spent most of my summers in Smithfield, Virginia.
I first realized I wanted to be a writer while attending the George Washington Carver High School for Engineering & Science – yes, there was a time when I wanted to be an architect, at least I thought I did. Then, one day, I couldn't take the boredom of another chemistry class and decided to write a novel. It was passed around to all of my classmates, who loved it. I did this several times and realized I had zero talent in math, science, or architecture. I was much better at writing, so I focused on that when I went to university.
In 1995, I chucked living in the US for the good life in Sweden with my Swedish husband.
Part two was nice. Nick was finally warming to the idea of having Keisha around. After the way Alex treated her, I was happy Nick was a good guy. A dog named Rufus was funny enough, but somehow the little pup was a sweet touch for the story. I'm ready for more.
After reading chapters 1-8. It's not a secret why I've become invested and excited about main characters Nick and Kiesha.
Both naive and innocent. Sensitive, but hardened by blows taken from life, love and in relationships. Each has become trapped in their own separate bubbles of misery and self doubt causing them to live with sadness. It's by coincidence that their paths cross. They to begin strike up a routine that brings each solace eventually binding them together with friendship.
Gifted in a couple of chapters at a time. I am more than giddy but I am patiently awaiting the release of more chapters. Kim is an author worth waiting for. Always writing from the heart about beautifully flawed, complex and realistic characters. She's an author I bring up in conversations when asked...Do you read? Can you think if any good authors? I happily respond Kim Golden.
4.5 stars. This is part two, which is told in Keisha's POV. She was trying to get her life on track. She was finally seeing her ex Alex for who he really was; he was her past, he was always in the background. Things were beginning to heat up a bit between her and Nick even though he was still grieving. The story was steady but moved quickly and I really liked it.
After Alex lures Keisha to Richmond under false pretenses, she has to face the fact that once again she has been duped by Alex. Between living in Nick's cottage and getting to know him and his dog Rufus, Keisha is on track to create the life she really wants for herself.
Sooo good.I am already invested in this couple and rooting for them to get together.Book 2 is even better than book 1.And then add in the absolute adorableness of Rufus and you have got a wonderful story.Hard to put down.
I read book two and loved it! The awkwardness of Nick and Keisha's friendship keeps you reading to see if things will progress. Definitely will be reading book 3
