New York Times bestselling author, Mark Cheverton, takes Minecraft fans into a battle to save Minecraft itself from destruction.

Now, with Krael’s vicious horde chasing them, Watcher and his friends must save as many villages as possible before making their final stand. But, outnumbered by monsters stronger than they’ve ever seen, it seems hopeless.
It will be left to Watcher to save them, and, with a secret weapon of mass destruction, the young wizard will be forced to make a Should he destroy millions of monsters, or should the villagers stand and fight, knowing they’ll die?
What Watcher doesn’t know is that a secret built into the ancient weapon could change the course of the war . . . for better or for worse.
Mark Cheverton grew up in Southern California, going through high school, and college. After college, Mark taught high school physics and math for many years. While teaching, he earned a Master's degree in Physics and conducted research on planetary atmospherics. After moving to the east coast, he started doing research for a Fortune 100 company in the fields of machine vision and additive manufacturing. His first book, The Algae Voices of Azule, was released in 2012, followed by the sequel shortly after.
He recently released the first book in his Minecraft series, Invasion of the Overworld: A Minecraft Novel, which is expected to be followed by the sequel, Battle for the Nether, in early 2014.
And with this book, the Minecraft saga has ended officially. Every character got a happy ending, there was something for fans of the Gameknight999 series( like me) and in general, it was a great book. General thoughts _________________ I actually ended up liking Watcher a lot more than I thought I would when I began The Farlands( I didn't like him before I read because I missed GK). I liked Planter, Blaster, Cutter and especially Er-Lan too. I was scared that Er-Lan was going to turn evil and I am glad I was proven wrong. I think that this story tells a message, that the actions of those passed do not effect you today, you can break free of their grasp and form your own path. Also the characters who died were mentioned again (unlike the Gameknight999 series) and guilt was explored. Planter and Watcher are cute (are they together again? It's really unclear, though the ending is supposed to be open). But I cried when GK and Hunter appeared... I CRIED!!! I feel as if the two series blend well together. Also, there was sequel bait, (Gameknight saying , 'See you in the future,' to Watcher and his friends...) I know sequel bait when I see it... But that just never happened and there hasn't been a new Minecraft book for eight years... I would have really loved to see the main cast of the GK series(Gameknight, Hunter, Crafter, Stitcher, Herder and Digger) and the main cast of the FLs series(Watcher, Planter, Cutter, Blaster and Er-Lan) meet up and have a big adventure. I think that all the storylines from both series could have been wrapped up in that adventure, showing the character development of all the characters. Kinda like an epilogue. I would really like that. Other than that sequel tease, I really enjoyed the Farlands... It's a great series which deserves more content!
