This book was written for HR Professionals, and also high potential employees on how to accelerate leadership development. Personally, I think there is more value here for Leaders (HR or otherwise) in large organisations which have the resources available to put together an accelerated leadership program.
It covers how to get started, dealing with the usual objections (why was that person chosen?, what happens at the end of the program?, won't that person just take all this development and leave?, they haven't had 20 years experience so they can't be a senior leader... etc.), and also ideas for what to put in your accelerated program such as looking at offering breadth of experience, stretch projects and focusing on experience rather than roles and career paths.
Through interviews with HR and business leaders, plus, millennial high-potentials, Wichert gives many examples of where/how accelerated programs work and what high potentials are looking for. There is also a section just focusing on women and millennial in the workforce.

I would recommend this book to anyone working in a large organisation who is struggling to get engagement from the senior team (or HR) regarding developing high potential employees and needs some evidence and research to refer to.

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher (Kogan Page) for providing me with an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
