This book had 2 stories in it, and I think I liked the 2nd one better than the first.
The first one was about mummies and murder and Egyptologists, and romance in the old subway tunnels.
The second one was about an old castle, a bunch of mystery writers gathered for a week of fun and games for charity. Lots of subtexts, romance and murder.
I was afraid of Heather Graham's books for a while, but now that I've finished this one, I'm going to read more. I really enjoyed these. While my cousin may have been able to solve the mystery earlier, I couldn't. That makes them more fun for me.
I love the new Finnegan Pub Connection series so I enjoyed the connection between FBI special agent Micah Fox and criminologist Harley Frasier. I had read Never Sleep with Strangers years ago but it was still a good mystery story the second time around. The author's style has gotten better with time!
I didn’t love these stories and the characters were just so-so. The 2nd story should have been 100 pages shorter- just too long for what was going on. Barely made it through..
Shadows in the Night 2.5 Stars Quick listen. I didn't get sucked in to the story. In fact, the beginning was a little boring. It ended on a high note but doesn't really make up for everything else.
Never Sleep with Strangers 1 Star I made it to chapter 10 before I decided to quit the book. It was boring and didn't hold my attention at all. I don't think this author is for me.
This book has two stories by Heather Graham. Shadows in the Night is set around the opening of an Egyptian exhibit for Amenmose. Harley’s mentor died mysteriously and now there are attacks surrounding the exhibit. Who can help Harley before something really bad happens? Maybe she can depend on FBI Agent Micah Fox? The second story is about Jon. His wife died while they were in Scotland. He brings together all of the suspects to learn who murdered his wife. Can he determine which of the suspects is guilty? If you like fast paced mysteries, then you will enjoy this book.
