NO TIME FOR GOODBYE: I was almost convinced that Cynthia was crazy. After a drunken evening she wakes to find her parents and her brother gone. Twenty five years later she is still searching for them. There are evil things going on, but why, who, etc?
DADDY'S GIRL.Nat(alie) lives with boisterous brothers, father and quiet mom. She teaches in a law school about justice and law. A colleague invites her to join him on a presentation at a prison, (minimum security). She goes. A riot occurs. A correction officer dies and she hears his last words. She is threatened with losing her job and worse.
THUNDER BAY: A PI (retired cop), Corcoran, has a close friend, Meloux, (Henry) a Lake Ojibwe healer, whom he visits in the hospital. Henry appears to be at death's door. He requests Cork to find his son and bring him bring him back to him. Amazingly, Henry leaves the hospital, AMA, and together they find the son, but not before they are both nearly killed. The hunt is full of close calls with death and more questions than answers.
I HEARD THAT SONG BEFORE. Kathryn Lansing is a librarian who visits a local wealthy man, Peter Carrington. She wants to host fund raising event at his estate, a rather bold request of someone who has been a recluse for years. There have been four deaths in the fairly recent history of this family. They remain unsolved. Her father, who was their landscaper, also died of apparent suicide. Of course, the event is scheduled and she beings to find some answers.

What a fun book to read on cool days while trying to stay warm in Florida. I had read Thunder Bay but others were new to me. I had forgotten Readers Digest books. They make for reading enjoyment. The problem with myisteries is that I do not quit until I've read it entirely. Shorter versions help with that.

I like these reader's digest books. You can get a taste of an author and see if you like him or her. The first book in this series was really suspenseful and interesting. On to the next story. These were fun stories to read. The first and the third were the best.
