Talk to Me

It had been months since their sensual interlude, and Chere really hadn’t expected to hear from John again after that brief encounter. Yet… now he was calling her. She couldn’t imagine what the actor and former TV idol could possibly want to talk about.

The answer to that question is just as baffling as the reason they’d gotten together in the first John’s inexplicable and overwhelming urge where Chere is concerned. The urge to be with her, to kiss her, to touch her…. More than an urge, it seemed to be more of a… compulsion.

But that first time, they’d been in close proximity of each other, and the very next day John had gotten on a plane and flown home. So what had triggered the relapse? More importantly, what could they do about it? Chere was baffled, and John was understandably frustrated. It might take some imagination, but maybe Chere could talk her way out of the situation….

This is a short story, of 7500 words, and takes place after the incidents in Brief Encounter.
