This is a very compelling story. I wanted to keep reading to find out the mysteries surrounding the main character, Denali, and her family. The ending contained a few surprises. A great read.
This book showed promise at the beginning which is why I got into it too far to justify abandoning it. (I'd already spent enough time reading I may as well speed-read through the rest.) Unfortunately, the characters are totally unbelievable. The plot line is absolutely ridiculous. Peterson attempted to write a mystery/thriller/I'm-not-sure-what while still making it "Christian" and it totally did not work. This is probably hands down one of the worst books I have ever read. I'm sad that I ever thought enough of it to buy it (or ask for it for Christmas) and will be donating it as soon as possible.
