I like fabric and I like art, so I dutifully plodded though about a third of the text, and then realised I was bored by it. it was dull and snotty. Opened the book at random to find proof. Sentences like, 'The general public might not have known the significance of those early, revolutionary paintings, but artists did.' really tick me off. We might realise more about art if it were presented in a more friendly way!!

Went through the rest of the book just looking at the pictures, but I didn't care for most of the art. It was not to my taste. I'd rather look at Dior or Cecil Chapman.
