I must confess a bias here as Tim is a friend of mine. being able to imagine his voice and body telling these stories obviously enhances the book. Having said that, this is still a great read. There's a mixture of stories, some historical, some legendary, some a mixture of the two. Some are scary, some humorous and some just plain odd! But all introduce different aspects of East Lothian culture and history and if nothing else make you want to find out more about the places and families mentioned. All in all a great addition to folklore, told in a plain and unassuming style by a marvellous storyteller.

Great to read about the local area and definitely want to visit the location of where these stories take place.
I reckon primary school kids would love this, especially the story about the ogress who farted, followed through and her pile of poo is what we now know as North Berwick Law 😆
