The correct title of this book is: Ono no Komachi, Poems, Stories, No Plays. It follows the legends that grew up around this 9th c. poetess through her poetry, stories written about her and 5 classical No plays. All these works are translated as well. In fact, as nothing is known with certainty about the historical Ono no Komachi, her life story is purely the stuff of legends, legends which grew out of her poems.
