Drawing upon his own work with brain-injured children as well as research and case histories, Dr. Delacato presents evidence to support his belief that autism is a neurological malfunction.
Niezwykła wrażliwość i uważność względem dzieci z autyzmem i ich rodziców, ale nie umiem poważnie traktować osoby, która mówi „teorie powinny być, jak kobiety - lepiej płodne niż dobre” str. 173 🤬🤯🤡
I enjoyed reading this book, which was written in 1974. The author contends that autism is a form of brain damage that increases or decreases sensory input and that the purpose of many symptoms of autism is to accommodate/ameliorate the sensory input abnormalities. After having read the book, I looked his program up - it still exists, although it has many critics. Critics state that there is no objective evidence that his system works, that the studies they present are in-house and biased. Not an expert on this, so I won't comment on the validity of the criticism. But I did find the book to be a good, thought-inducing read.
