I cannot recommend The Trailblazer series enough!! An incredible way to introduce missionaries and some of their amazing stories but difficulties they faced in a gentle way.
Read out loud to my 6.5, 9, and almost 12 year olds. Easy independent read for an 8-10 year old. My oldest daughter, now 16, read the whole series in 4th grade!
