This is the story of a character who hates the world so much that he wants it to end. Pretty edgy, right? But it gets better. The main character, Kuro, has a power to destroy the world and there are other people with similar powers but the strongest among them is Sera, who has an even stronger power. What happens when these two meet? Chaos ensues, of course.
After reading the entire five volume manga, I can say confidently that the mangaka has a pretty interesting premise but he isn't able to deliver on it because the manga is discontinued (or ended, rather) before he quite make a good ending. And so, this manga is rather fast paced with multiple characters who seem more as props for making things happen rather than actual characters. Apart from a handful of the characters, they're very undeveloped. The plot rushes through a lot of important stuff, barely giving us the time to understand what's really going on and the ending, it's very anticlimactic.
It's true that manga had a very strong start and kept it up until around the first half of volume 3 but after that is where it started going downhill. We are introduced to a number of characters and even an evil organisation. In between the current events, we are continuously whisked back to the past to discover the stories of the others involved and so, by the time it ends, it's a hot mess. I think the biggest problem here is that not only does the author include way too many characters, with each having their own terrible pasts that are barely swiped through, it's also a very small manga that needed to be focused on a few particular characters than the great cast that we get here.
But in spite of all the complaints, I think this manga has potential, which could have done better if it hadn't been discontinued, and since the mangaka himself has said that someday he would like to rewrite and republish IB, I'll definitely be looking forward to it.
Aka Akasaka is one of my favourite author. So, I was naturally curious about his first original work Instant Bullet. In term of quality of writing it definitely isn't his best work. The ending was rushed. Beside one or two characters there wasn't much character growth. And some logics just don't make any sense.
Even with all this issues I really enjoyed this series especially the first 3 volumes were great. If he was given some extra chapters to work with I'm sure this one would also be up there with his great works "Kaguya-sama" and "Oshi no ko".
Even though this had no romance, for me this is one of the best manga out there. Truly a masterpiece left by Aka Akasaka, ALSO WHY IS THIS NOT ADAPTED INTO AN ANIME.
