Take Me Home, To Love

Life forces your hand sometimes - - the choices you make at this time define the kind of human you are. But is it really a black and white choice always? Does everybody create that fine grey area for themselves or do some people struggle their entire lives to make peace with choices they make?
Dr. Prakash migrates from Mandvi to live in faraway Canada, he leaves a despondent mother Chandrika, his best friend Dr. Solanki and the hopes of all his villagers behind.

""I will learn to live without him,"" Chandrika was determined.

Did Dr. Solanki ever forgive him for leaving him in the lurch? Does Prakash, after having spent twenty five years in Canada, have the courage to come back to his mother when she needs him the most? The strange looking Ganesa seems to overpower the unfolding of all events - is he the real reason or is he the cover for clearing the conscience?

Set in Gujarat, it is a story of two friends, Chandrika and Amba, who let their children pursue their destinies and their children, like each one of us struggle to create a fine balance between our own ambitions, aspirations, struggles, and the need of our parents to be with them, especially during their twilight years.

Wonderful story. The story that direct touches your heart. Since long, I haven’t read such a good book. Overall I can give 5/5 ratings, to the book cover, print quality, writings, content and story. Being gujarati, story attracts me the most. And the family content and different story line makes the book unique.

The book is a real soul shaker...its a re-read stuff..i could not take off my mind from the book even days after finishing it..i wanted that good feel to remain there hence i did not read anything after reading this.. Thanks a lot for penning down the mother and child relationship in such a beautiful manner...the story reflects the modern pain when kids are running after metaphysical beauty of the world..this book has that power to transform you...a must read!!!

Take me home, to love is not a romantic story but story about a mother and son. That son who leaves home due to the bad experience he encounters in his personal life in the name of his son who resembles Ganesh the almighty but it's like a tumor that has been discribed in this book. Prakash leaves his home town being a doctor to lead a peace and secured life to Canada. His mother Chandrika who is widow and only lives for her son. Two characters like a god's incarnation Ganesa and Kartik who come back to India and modify the small Mandvi village in gujrat to a religious place. As per the back cover story its more a story about amba and Chandrika as well Solanki and Prakash but this book is mainly about the family of Chandrika. There are too many characters which are not justified properly. Moreover there are instances where the characters are ignored for example in the climax when Prakash returns to Mandvi his other son Karthik was in India and in same town but it has been ignored. overall like the story and it's a good Goodread.... 😊

It's a story of redemption, it's a fable of coming back home, a tale of accepting people in our life the way they are.

I loved they way Komal developed story, i agree she took some literary liberties on Mandvi, a city close to my heart. The novel helps you to bring your thoughts together, look for the brighter side always and never give up. If you really need to one up your self, go read the novel.

This is not an another tale of Gujjubhai settling in far of land and talking about Fafda and Khakra and missing their uttarayan. This is more of a human story to acceptance, wildness.

Do read this and if you don't get your hands on it, do let me know i can land you my copy.

I received this book in Goodreads giveaway and I surely want to thank Writer and Publisher for their king gesture.
