Disclaimer: My experience was detailed in this book, and I donated money to the author for many years to support her work, because I thought there was something new and original to say, and I have now changed my mind after trying the Homeodynamic Recovery method, and losing 5 years of my life thinking the information in this book was trustworthy and true. I was appalled to learn that the author simply fabricated information to obtain clients - i.e. they lied about being a physician, they lied about edema being healing, they lied about how ED recovery is supposed to take 5-7 years, needing 6,000-10,000 calories the whole time.

The author should refund every payment she ever received for doing "consultations" (which were often copy/pasted between clients) and work on restorative justice in the Eating Disorder community - i.e. apologizing to professionals she maligns and accuses of having eating disorders, apologizing for lying to clients that the side effects of this process - diabetes, sleep apnea- don't count as true diseases because they are overdiagnosed and overtreated. This woman is outside the bounds of sanity, and I don't say that lightly. following this method put me outside the bounds of sanity too.

While there are one or two things in this book that are true - even a broken clock is right twice a day - there are so many things that are wrong, dangerously so - that to take this book as truth is akin to risking one's life on any other diet or lifestyle (e.g. eat for your blood type, paleo, veganism, orthorexic or other diets focused on giving one health). The leaders of those aforementioned movements all claimed to have science on their side, and people cling to that science - out of desperation, and of course, testimonials. The reasons people follow this book / method/step by step guide are no different.

Ask yourself - would you follow information from a random internet person about how to treat cancer? glaucoma? scleroderma? No, right (or at least I hope not) - so why would you do so for an eating disorder?? Run, far far away, from this book, if you don't want to lose the next 5 years of your life. Go read "Sick Enough" by Dr Gaudiani instead.
