This makes the third book by this author I have read in the past few days. the first book was decent but I had a lot of writing mistakes which made it hard to read, I was surprised with the second one however while reading I cannot help but pay extra attention to the quality of the writing in this authors' work.

An issue I found was the inconsistencies, which has always been the major problem. In a paragraph about the introduction, there is a sentence which includes "...between five and 15 pages..." this clear inconsistency in how they are formatting numbers, it makes it hard to trust the advice given in these books. While later there are instances when they use the written numbers in both instances, but the above example is still an issue.

Additionally, there are random points where it refers to the dissertation as a 'thesis', while they are very similar not all departments consider them to be the same thing, and while he did establish this book refers to both, it primarily uses the phrase 'dissertation' there are random points where it uses 'thesis' is confusing.

A big issue I seem to have with this book and the books by this author is all the books have a lack of editing. I found more basic level issues such as the beginning of chapter 4 saying "You master's thesis" not "your".

Very much aimed at the American Masters Student, as there is reference to some aspects of Academic Practice which just don't exist in the UK (including the length of the Dissertation, and the existence of "your professional editor"!).

That aside, there's still some good tips for UK Masters level students here, and the whole thing is a very quick read.
