As the oldest continuously active U.S. Air Force military installation, it's no wonder Francis E. Warren Air Force Base is one of the most haunted military bases in the nation. Rumor has it that residents keep a log of unnatural incidents, like early morning phantom maneuvers on the parade grounds. A long-deceased cavalryman refuses to leave his post, while another specter prefers to linger in the Missile Museum. Writer and guide Jill Pope offers up a chilling tour through this historic base and a look at the spooky legends and tales that surround this historic Cheyenne site.
Pretty interesting, but the stories could have been more detailed. This is a quick and easy read with a bit of Wyoming military history I never knew. Fun as it reminded me of my "ghost" story while serving in the Army stationed in Germany.
Having lived in Rock Springs, I truly enjoyed this book.
Very interesting! I wish I could have gotten over to the base to see the places mentioned. I very much love the combination of history and the ghostly. Great writing with nice pictures throughout!
I was stationed at Warren for five years and stayed busy enough that I wasn’t able to follow up on the few vague rumors of ghost sightings that I heard about. This book is a good synopsis of numerous encounters. I feel many of those experiences would have been more interesting with more details.
