It peaked my interest on the subject, but the majority of this was difficult to get through. I think in order to call it an illustrated history, it needed far more pictures/graphs/timelines to visually aid the reader in understanding the quantity of information. The pictures were dark and hard to see any details.
A very basic overview of Celtic history with short chapters on the significance of Druidism and the arts. Useful if you know absolutely nothing about Celtic history and want a starter. Not particularly engaging, and fairly few images (in black and white) for an illustrated history. Overall nothing special.
Kind of a brief overview of Celtic history. Easy read, the first 3rd of the book covers all areas of Celtic living, from the Urnfielders and Hallstatt Culture forward, and the rest of the book focuses mainly on Celtic Ireland and how everything influenced each other.
