My Life, My Death

Rate this book
'My Life, My Death' is a sometimes dark, sometimes inspirational, poetic journey into the mind of an author who has taken the time to thoroughly ponder the human experience. Luke Savage recently graduated with a Masters Degree in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University, and previously studied Psychology at Rochester College. This poet has a strong voice and tone, one that will challenge, cause deep thought, inspire, and enrage. If you like to think and feel deeply, this book will not disappoint.

When you read Luke's poetry, it's clear that he writes from the heart. His poems are raw emotional narratives that don't hide behind metaphors or beat around the bush. He comes straight with his message, and this book is proof of that. As the title states, this is a book about life and death. Mr. Savage writes about his first hand experiences with personal ups and downs. The birth of his children, the death of his mother, the love of his life, and the in between. He opens the door to give the reader a glimpse into his world, and holds nothing back while doing so. It is an enjoyable read from cover to cover, extremely moving in nature, and I'd recommend this book to anyone that loves honest heartfelt poetry.

Luke Savage is an amazing and inspirational writer. I don't usually read poetry but when I started this book I could not put it down. His words were full of emotion and made you feel them as well. At times I wanted to cry, the way he opened up and let the words flow had me tearing up. I loved the emotional journey you went through with him as you read each poem! I highly recommend this book to everyone, even if you don't read poetry, give this book a try. I know you won't be disappointed! I can't wait to read more of Luke's work!
