About the author

Russell D. Moore is President of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, the Southern Baptist Convention’s official entity assigned to address social, moral, and ethical concerns.

Dr. Moore earned a B.S. in history and political science from the University of Southern Mississippi. He also received the M.Div. in biblical studies from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Ph.D. in systematic theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He blogs frequently at his “Moore to the Point” website, and is the author or editor of five books, including Tempted and Tried: Temptation and the Triumph of Christ, Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches, and The Kingdom of Christ: The New Evangelical Perspective. In addition to these, Dr. Moore is also the author of dozens of academic articles and essays within the field of systematic theology and Christian ethics. He also serves as Senior Editor of Touchstone: A Journal of Mere Christianity.

As a Lifeway Women Ambassador, I won a copy of this wonderful book. God is using it to dispel my fears and equip me for cultural engagement, specifically as a parent.

This book has discussion questions if you want to hold a small group study with other parents, or you can use it as a stand-alone study. Its main focus is the essential role parents play in teaching the Christian faith to their children. The authors paint an accurate picture of the unique challenges parents face in the current culture. The cultural landscape is without precedent and has no limit for expansion, so we must engage differently than parents in previous generations.

Christ-Centered Parenting has a reassuring, empowering voice. We are called to be faithful in our teaching and examples, and we can teach our children to serve as salt and light in their circles of influence.

This book has teaching segments that are customized for the ages of your children. You can use the book with preschoolers all the way to young adults. This book provides thoughtful discussion guides on these important topics:

Our mom’s group just started this book. It’s so so needed. Especially now, in the age of technology. I had already felt my anxiety going up after this year of craziness. Starting this study has really helped. It has super practical wisdom for parents. It’s almost a must to research these topics and the best way to go about your child knowing and discussing these topics with you as they grow. The videos paired with this study have been really helpful too. Great perspectives and very biblical.
