As a parent, I want to keep my kids safe. I’m especially concerned when they are away from home and out of my site. I want to do my best to teach them how to be safe, so they will be safe when I’m not around.
I’m thankful for books like Giggly Bear’s Fun Trip in the Yellow Bus by Kelly Santana-Banks. It’s a simple story of a bear riding the bus to the funfair, but it teaches valuable lessons on bus safety. I know my children will be riding the bus for school and other activities. This story gives me a tool to teach them to be safe. It has adorable illustrations by Shelia Marie Alejandro that kids will love. It has a repeating rhyming mantra which will help kids remember to be safe. Kids learn well by repetition.
This is not an exciting story of action and adventure or a story that will make them laugh. It’s a serious lesson presented in a sing-song rhyming style. The pictures and rhymes will help children learn lessons and keep them interested enough. It can be a good tool to teach children about safety not only riding the bus but other modes of transportation.

We received this book to give an honest review.

This was an okay book for A and I to read. When riding in a school bus you should always be safe and follow the rules that are given to you by the teacher and the bus driver. Giggly Bear and his classmates are headed to the Funfair in a bus!
The teacher goes over the rules and safety for everyone to hear Giggly Bear listens but it seems his friend doesn't.
A thought the book was boring and wanted to know what did they see at the funfair. Which then she told me about her riding on a bus at school and what she got to do, but they did not have seat belts.

I think the author could do away with the repeating of the same phase, it just didn't work for me. I would have liked the author to also maybe include what everyone saw while on the bus. Did they see other cars when passing, or maybe different buildings? I know it might sound silly as this book is about safety and not what the bears saw around them.

This is a simple enough read and a rather quick one. The author focusses on the importance of wearing seat-belts in the bus and being safe.

However, though the various parts rhyme, there is one part which keeps repeating throughout. Also, there is not a lot of detail about the circumstances of the trip or what happens when they reach their destination. We are only introduced to two main characters and one of them, Giggly Bear is the main character. There is no indication as to why that is his name and I assume it is not really important to know that! The author touches upon the topic of safety at a surface level but gives enough information and stress on the topic

Overall, this book is decent and the illustrations are captivating enough, though very less in number. The story is easy to read and understand and children will definitely enjoy this book and learn something from it, in spite of the lack of detail or a longer plot!

"Giggly Bear's Fun Trip in the Yellow Bus" is a fun way for young kids to learn about riding on a school bus for the first time. The pictures are cute and go along well with the short text on each page to keep the attention of young readers. There are also some phrases that are repeated for carryover of learning. This would be a great book for kids who are starting school before their first time on a bus so they can prepare to follow the rules for safety. While there aren't always seat belts on buses in the US, there are still safety rules parents could review with their kids before getting on the bus with the recommendations in the back of the book.

The book did not come across well in the Kindle format. The words were on one page and the pictures were on another. It also looked like we had missing pictures.

Not kindle unlimited, must have gotten it as mobi/kindle either on freebie day or from writer.

Not sure how this is supposed to rhyme {went back and reread for the third time, this time on chromebook with epub, formatting is seeminly better suited for this type book, and it does basically rhyme that way with pages not getting split apart}, there is really nothing about where they are going/when they get to wherever, and all I saw was the start, then that part repeated with a bit more, then all that repeated and a bit more. Did I miss something? {Again, reread it with different download, first time mobi, then different download mobi, then epub version} and that was all of it. Had one of my sister's younger grandkids read it, and they did not find it interesting.

Most importantly, in the US at least, not positive about other countries, there are NOT seatbelts on buses, never have been, no matter even if the medium sized or even smaller buses.
