In Geneva, a highly valued product with the power to cause major destruction is stolen from The CERN.
Eighty kilometers from the Austrian border, a young girl becomes the key that controls the will of the man with the power to create and destroy.
In the mountainous regions of Switzerland, a hostile force from a pariah regime attempts to extract a scientist from a fast-moving train.
Kimball Hayden, lead commander of the Vatican Knights, has been asked by the Vatican to retrieve a mysterious guest from Zurich and to escort him back to Rome by train. Onboard the train, Kimball finds himself unwittingly caught up in the mix of an operation known as Scepter's Rule. Even though the mysterious stranger tries to direct him, Kimball has an agenda of his own. Now, with the lives of more than 400 innocent people onboard the express, Kimball Hayden must become a sinner or a saint to achieve the means, and in the process must choose between damnation and salvation.

Rick Jones is also an avid writer and the creator of the Vatican Knight series (VATICAN KNIGHTS, SHEPHERD ONE and The ISCARIOT AGENDA), and the psychological thriller, THE MAN WHO CAST TWO SHADOWS.
He lives in Las Vegas with his two mini schnauzers, Wrangler and Hobo.
3.5 stars. While entertaining and full of action, this book does have some issues. Not a big fan of when the author thinks they have to forcibly interject the title of the book several times into the story. And will it shock anybody if I said Kimball still has issues? To balance this out, there were some really well written sections and some nice twists to the story.
I keep reading them hoping they will get better but they don't. Good news is the number of typos and content errors have been reduced in this book, but they are still there.
Another fantastic read from the prolific Rick Jones.
Our favourite Vatican Knight, Kimball Hayden, is sent on a mission to escort a mysterious, dying old man from Switzerland to Rome (on a train) in what is supposed to be educational, and an opportunity to receive a helping hand in Kimball's quest for redemption.
Meanwhile, a scientist is coerced into stealing a weapon of mass destruction and is ordered to take it on the same train where some baddies will take it off his hands at some point during the journey.
Obviously these nasty North Koreans didn't plan on Kimball being on the same train, and what follows is a mix of Die Hard, Taken and John Wick. What's not to like?
Rick Jones is consistently brilliant and has written yet another no-nonsense, thrilling and relentless book.

Great book only wish I had started the series at the beginning as I am really enjoying these books, and I can understand the fight that goes on in the main players head, he is right for wrong and wrong for right, he is such a great guy and he deserves to win. Have found the next few to read, so if you want a good read give these books a go, but start at 1 not as I did. They are a very good story and the main player is really good, well written and you get hooked.
I was a fan of the Vatican Knights series from book one. Every book in the series has been great. I can't think of any of the Rick Jones collection that was not a page turner.
