Did not see that coming
I'm still recovering from this ending when you read the blurb about a mistake that could change everything the author didn't disappoint. OMG not once would I have gone down the path this series has taken. The storyline takes you on a comfortable journey where you think yeah I know how this is going to end then it's like the author just says "Don't get comfortable I'm not making it that easy" and then BOOM he drops a huge bombshell.
Once again we meet up with Sienna, Jake and Lukas as each character is trying to navigate life and relationships. Jake is on the brink of fame, Lukas's career is just going stronger and Sienna will need to make life changing decisions. Their lives are about to change forever and secrets are about to be revealed. The final book deals with how they cope with these challenges, what decisions are made and what impact it will have on their lives. The storyline is well written and at times I could hear myself yelling at the characters asking them "What were you thinking?" I enjoy books that get you involved in the characters lives that you feel all the emotions and you sometimes forget that it's just a story.
This is the third and last book in this series and it didn't disappoint. The author has improved with each book that has been written and the characters are easy to relate to, you can put yourself in their shoes. My only criticism is that I don't like the female character but that is purely a personal opinion and not a reflection on the Author's writing ability I just find that I cannot relate to her. I would recommend this series as it's not what you think or expect.

WTF did I just read!!! You have been warned you will seriously need to hold onto your Kindle when you get to the ending of this book! Never and I mean never will anyone guess where the author took this story. Now this is a trilogy and love triangle at BEST!! Are you TEAM Jake or TEAM Lukas? Maybe your mind keeps swaying to one TEAM each book, but the ultimate is who is CHOSEN. For a debut author who writes a trilogy while struggling with life in general, I want to say, "Thank you, for continuing with the story and not letting it not be spoken." You have to read the author section to understand why I am thanking them for releasing these books. We saw how your writing progressed throughout the books and this book just nailed it. I cannot wait to see more stories from you in the future.
This is a trilogy that must be read in order as it continues on the story of Sienna, Jake and Lukas. In the prior books we got to see the success of Dark Falkon and Lukas, this book we get to see more of Jake and Lightning Ridge and how Sienna is dealing with her newfound news from the end of book two. Once you pick up this story you are anxiously awaiting to see how this turn of events is going to be handled by Jake and Lukas. Can Sienna and Lukas be together? Will Jake finally get the love of his life? These are the mild questions you want answers to. The other questions I have to keep to myself so it will not give spoilers.
Lukas is still on top of the chart and loves Sienna, but we still know that there is a side he is hiding. Will we ever get the answers? If we do, are they predictable? Heck NO! Trust me you won't see it coming. Jake is making it big and not only competing on the charts with Lukas, but they are performing together. Yes, I know they did this once before, but Lighting Ridge was just an opener, this is them actually performing together and the show is a Robert Rabbit eye popper. All I can say is please hold onto your device towards the end cause this twist is the ultimate chart topper.
The Route 66 trip was an eye opener and made you fall for Jake even more, but there is one scene that is priceless and boy would I love to be a fly on the wall for that scene. As Sienna is nearing the end, how will they handle the news of whose it is? and what does it mean for each of their relationships? Third Act is going to give us ALL the answers and more. We see the triangles unfold, the love between all involved, the bands success, secrets revealed and the passion that each one has for Sienna. Once the secrets are out how does Sienna handle this and does this make her decision on who she is choosing different? Will it be Jake or Lukas that steals her heart? Forget success as an band how about acting being added to your resume-well almost there cause you are releasing ads for an upcoming movie that is major. WOW, I have read many love triangles, but this twist tops all other books. If you enjoy love triangles, suspense, Rock Star Reads than you need to pick up this trilogy and fall in love with Dark Falkon and Lightning Ridge like we did.

Book 3 in Jo Mantels Debut trilogy absolutely delighted me. As with Book 1 & 2 I liked that he wasn’t afraid to write characters that are disliked. I never liked Sienna- even in the end. I think she is self centered and immature. But you know what- so are many people I know so once I got my head out of the headspace of reading vanilla characters written by authors who are too scared to take a chance I found it refreshing.
Jo’s writing has progressed from the first 2 books and I felt like the story flowed more freely in Book 3. The cliffhanger from book 2 overshadows this whole book and kept me guessing about the possible ending the whole time. What did happen in the end really blindsided me as I can usually pick an ending a mile away. The ending made the whole trilogy worth reading for me and left me wanting to do a re-read which I didn’t expect. Bravo Jo on your first trilogy. I cant wait to see what comes next.

An absolutely brilliant ending to a series that got better as it progressed. The book sees Sienna with a huge decision to make and pressure from all sides to reveal the answer to the burning question but plot twists, roadblocks, and an ending you just don't see coming made this book a page-turner. J.O has delivered a book well worth waiting for with an ending that not only answers all your questions but gives you so much more.

Third and final part of this trilogy and talk about save the best till last !!!! It picks up from the last book, the complications that a new problem brings in to her life and takes you on her journey of discovery with some bumps in the road, a couple of forks with decisions to make and an ending that is just ..... mind blowing. Whether you are team Jake or Team Lukas this one will have you on the edge of your seat till the last

Now that's how you end a trilogy!!!!
The third and final instalment in the Dark Falkon Trilogy has lots of mystery and one HUGE EPIC ending that no reader will ever forget. J.O Mantel has certainly exceeded all expectations when it has come to this series. He has kept me glued from the very beginning with his wonderful characters and a storyline like no other.
Beginning where SECOND BEST left of THIRD ACT is a wonderful read. This is not your run of the mill love triangle....it is more than that. Friendship and emotions are heavily tested throughout this book - even to the point where you think what on earth is going to happen next. J.O definitely doesn't let the reader think for one minute, something is always happening in each and every scene. There are no real "down" moments.
Yes, I must admit Sienna can get on a person's nerves. Yes she appears self-centered, but I think that is mainly because she has no real confidence in herself. She needs to know that those around her approve of her and her actions. The news that she received at the end of Second Best really threw her a curve ball, it was a life changing moment for her - she had to make sure that she was doing the right thing for her.
Jake Cooper is my man. I love Jake. This is a man who has loved his best friend forever, but now he sees her slowly slipping into the life and arms of another. But, he is decent enough to know, that in order for Sienna to be happy, he must step aside and just remain friends - but is that where this book will take us? Or has J.O decided that Lukas is not the man for Sienna? Only time and pages will tell.
Lukas Dark. Rock star and near perfect boyfriend (yes he does have his faults), the man who stole Sienna's heart. He truly loves Sienna, but will she fit permanently into his busy lifestyle? Is she just another notch on his belt? Or does he love her with just as much passion as Sienna loves him?
I loved the road trip in this book - there were some absolutely hilarious moments and then there were a few solemn moments - but oh to be a fly on the wall on one occasion!!!! Being able to witness Lightning Ridge in concert was a bonus, as previously J.O had only given us glimpses of Dark Falkon performing.
That ending....what can I say about that....well, actually absolutely NOTHING!!!! To do that would be to spoil the entire series. Let's just say....you are in for one almighty totally unexpected finish. I must say, congratulations to J.O for being able to pull off something as massive as that surprise - so not what I thought was going to happen.
If you haven't read FIRST CRUSH or SECOND BEST, they are a MUST before reading this one. A highly recommended series - one that will have you completely gobsmacked at its conclusion.

This is the Third and final book in the Dark Falcon series.
This book leaves off where Second Best ended. Sienna has just been given unexpected news and now she has some hard decisions to make and doesn’t know where to even begin.
Jake’s career with Lightning Ridge is just starting to take off. His hard work and sacrifices are starting to pay off but the only thing missing is Sienna. He so badly wants to be with Sienna but he knows that’ll never happen because she’s so madly in love with Lukas.
Lukas’ career doesn’t seem to be slowing down and he hasn’t had much time with Sienna. They’ve been through so much and things are finally starting to get back to normal between them. He doesn’t want to lose her but things are about to get complicated.
I’ve read many books but I’ve never read a plot twist like this. There have been many WTF moments while reading but NOTHING compares to what JO has done in this book. He’s got quite the talent for making you think you know what’s happening and then BAM in comes the plot twist. He’s absolutely brilliant and I loved this book. It’s definitely my favorite in the series. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to Jake and Lukas.

What can be said about this book I don’t even know where to begin. Whether you were team jake or team Lukas you will not be disappointed. I have to say I was not expecting the epic plot twist and when you read be prepared to say wtf at least five times. This book in my opinion was the absolute best in the entire series. JO really and truly out did himself and should be extremely proud of the way he ended this amazing series. Bravo on this book and can not wait to read more from you

I have been fully immersed in the Dark Falkon series for a few days now, and there's no way that I can give any sort of description for the ending that I just read without spoiler douchery. Instead, this will be one of my reviews about my dramatic feelings instead. See, this is a love trilogy at it's finest between Sienna, Jake, and Lucas, which comes to a head in Third Act. And while I usually have a favorite that I want to win, with Jake & Lucas, it wasn't so cut & dried for me. Then, I pride myself on being able to see what's coming, but the insanely talented J.O. Mantel blew whatever I thought I knew would happen out of the water in a huge way! So it's safe to say that the loud f-bombs were dropping everywhere, especially since the twists & turns were around every corner! I'm going to keep this review short, because seriously, spoiler douchery is at the tips of my fingers, as I LOVED this trilogy so very much! And I cannot wait to read more by this awesome author, who is evolving brilliantly with each new book! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Third Act, the whole Dark Flakon series, and J.O. Mantel to ALL!

This is the third and final book in this amazing series, and this story carries straight on from the ending in #2. Sienna, Jake and Lukas are all tested to the limits with friendship and their emotions in this story. I loved the road trip which is absolutely hilarious and with the added twists, all of this ensured that I was totally hooked and intrigued throughout, and what an epilogue!! No spoilers; this is a definite must read for all lovers of rock star romances, and I cannot wait to read more of this author’s work!

Wow!! I did not see that coming at all! What a spin on things! Couldn't wait for this book and loved it!!! Read this in one go as I was transfixed into their little world and I really felt their story along with all the characters! What a way to end this series!

This is a tame book that has an interesting storyline that grabs your attention. At times the characters do seem a little immature for their age and there are gaps in the story but still a good read. The ending to this book was phenomenal though.
