When we were little, our father filmed family moments with a motion picture camera (as he called it). I never saw the footage until I was an adult. What a blessing it was to see my parents when they were younger, and all of my siblings in those frames. I actually cried when I saw myself as an infant, because my brother Rodney, although he was just a pre-teen, was holding me like I was the most precious child in the world. He held me like I was his. This image is fitting for Rodney. He is a man who takes ownership—even when other would-be owners step out of the picture. After so many years of being responsible for so many, he decided to reflect over his life and take stock of lessons learned. Just before he turned 50, he shared a series of posts on Facebook. In each post, he shared something he learned and reflected over his life. It was golden. I told him he should put all of it into a book. He did. This is it, folks. Get ready to read the thoughts of a man who loves his family and friends with gusto. He is a man who loves to succeed and see others do the same. Every time I go to him for advice, he listens first. Then, he shares what God puts on his heart. He always follows up with the same ‘Enjoy the ride.’ I hope you will enjoy this ride, too.
Rodney Johnson writes about all the totally mysterious stuff I get all involved with in a series of books called THE RINNAH TWO FEATHERS MYSTERIES . He lives in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles, California now, but he was born in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. I guess he's so interested in my life 'cause he's Lakota Sioux -- just like I am! He likes to visit Rosebud Reservation, where his dad is from, whenever he gets a chance.
When Rodney isn't writing about me, he writes for people like DisneyChannel.com and ToonDisney.com. Right now, Rodney is working as a development executive for Genesis Films, an independent film production company.
He also belongs to some writing organizations and junk, like Mystery Writer's of America, Sisters in Crime (What's that about?) and Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
Although there are a few typos, and a couple of sentences here and there that didn't add much to his thoughts, Mr. Johnson did an amazing job sharing his heart.
Sharing life lessons in a way that's easy to understand, and throwing in some humor, I found this book uplifting and thought of people I want to share it with.
If you're looking for a good read, with some great insight and encouragement, you can't go wrong with this book!
Nice Concept. Random thoughts about life that he's learned throughout his 50 years. Writer has very traditional beliefs which don't necessarily stand in the modern world. Those beliefs are part of the reason why church membership is declining.
