August 2019. A novella Western with a certain "wild west" charm plus life and death decisions around every corner and boulder. I'm guessing this is a stand alone story with no additional stories of the doctor and the banker.

Finished 01/30/2014. A very different slant on a Western. Robert Patterson, a young doctor and John Bannerman, the town banker are trailing a cold blooded killer that has brought anthrax to Cooperville, CO and JB's wife was one of several victims. They enlist the aid of a sheriff's deputy in the pursuit and RP finds the source of the anthrax as well as performing surgery on some pustules as well as gunshot wounds. in the end RP has to shoot the villain. Really quite good, but doesn't compare to his Posadas County mysteries.

I always thoroughly enjoy Steven Havill's books, and this was no exception.
