This book is ideal for anyone in the human services field who is wanting to practice in rural and remote locations. Rural social work is a lot different than urban social work, often facing far more challenges such as lack of nearby resources or dealing with zero resources. Then what? if you can't make a referral to another agency in the area, what options do you have? How do you, as a professional deal with such scenarios? Thought provoking and enlightening, especially for the new, fresh faced social work graduate wanting to venture forth into the world to make it a better place. This is an eye opener of challenges you may contend with if you choose to work in remote/rural settings. Those rose tinted glasses may come off a wee bit sooner than expected ;)
