A princess with a secret, and a prince who cares enough to listen.
Prince Theras is engaged to Princess Alexi - a girl he has never seen, never met. Their marriage will ensure Theras keeps his title as 'Prince', and stays in line to the throne.
But Princess Alexi has a secret. Can love really conquer all?
A tale of identity, labels, love, and family expectation.
Definitely self-published, so I don't want to judge it by the same standards I would for a published novel.
This was a short and sweet read. I love the characters and the queer representation - Theras' love for his husband is admirable, and Queen Olyvia's protection of her "son" was beautiful. I would have liked to see more depth and character development in Lady Acrya. I also was a bit surprised by how quickly the King accepted Alexi's reveal - though I understand there was probably some pressure from the public nature of court, and his wife's unwavering support likely had a great influence on his reaction. It would be nice to see this edited and expanded, but even if that doesn't happen, it was an enjoyable read. :)
I quite enjoyed this little story. I have no idea if it was own voices or not, but I feel like the subject matter was handled respectfully and it was an interesting and timely book. It isn’t the most literary piece of writing I’ve ever read, but it was decent and entertaining and had a great message.
