Love Me A Lifetime: An Urban Romance

Rate this book
“They say when you find that special someone, you hold on to them and love them for a lifetime.” The last thing on Shawday Richardson’s mind is falling in love because her main focus is always on helping others. This is how she meets and befriends Skylar Jackson, who is going through a deep depression behind the incarceration of her husband and small time boxer, DeMarco. The two quickly become close as sister’s and begin hanging out until DeMarco is released. This is when Skylar gets the idea to introduce Shawday to her husband’s childhood friend, Samuel ‘Sammie’ Lanson. Immediately after they meet, it is determined that Sammie is the perfect match for Shawday. He is able to win her over with not only his good looks and charm, but also with his culinary skills. Never in her wildest dreams does Shawday think a man like Sammie exists, yet she still takes a leap of faith and follows her heart. Her hasty decision lands her in a beautiful relationship with an incredible bond until ghosts from Sammie’s past began to haunt them. Through it all, Skylar and DeMarco are there for their friends while dealing with their own issues, stemming from his boxing career to the ‘janky’ promoter. Now, things get rocky, relationships are tested and the only choice they have is to be strong. True strength swiftly comes into play forcing them all to fight for what they want. Thing is, will it be enough to keep the couples together?

Amazing

I knew from the moment I started reading Tracy and Hadiya were going to be a wretched mess. You could tell that the apple didn't fall too far from the tree. Skylar had trust issues when it came to Demarco. I'm just glad that he had taken heed to what she was telling him. Shawday and Sammie were happy for the most part but one of their past indiscretions came back trying to haunt them. The two of them proved that they could weather any storm. Little Corina was mature , respectable, and well grounded for her age which was a surprise being that she had ratchet grandmother and mother.

So refreshing and entertaining I read this and it was such a beautiful change from reading the normal storyline. Right out the gate you knew this book was gonna be full of nothing but DRAMA and more DRAMA, which made it such a good read and held me interest throughtout. Loved the friendship and relationship of these couples and regardless whatever they went to they had a strong bond with each other. Loved the happy ending and that love will prevail. Highly recommend if you're looking for something that's different but so entertaining.

For this author to have so many books this was more a first book authors writing. Seems the author's not developing and that's a bummer. 11/29/2019 8:14
