Paging through this book I was reminded (and ashamed) of how many McDonald's premiums I amassed as an omnivorous child in the 1980s. While I liked the food, the Happy Meal toys were the real draw--and it was universally accepted in my youth that McDonald's had the "best" ones. I no doubt would not have chomped down so many burgers and fries had it not been for the toy surprise.
These days, the Happy Meal toy's days may be numbered. I'd argue that's a good thing. Use this book as both a price guide and a reminder of how the fast food corporations have marketed to children.
