And so on to the next book in the Mystery and Magic series from Dragons World publishing.
Now in this book we do keep more to the historical figures (rather than in some of the other books wander in to the world of fiction and pop culture) but to be honest considering when this book was published and the intended audience there was really not much else you could go for.
However in the case of this book I think thats fine - there are more than enough Gods and Goddesses in the pantheons out there to fill a book several times this size. However what I particularly like about this book is that not the most obvious choices were selected the first time around - this makes for a fun read where you dont quite know what to expect over the page.
However there is one this to expect and that is the excellent work of Robert Ingpen the principle reason why I bought this series of books (4 in total in no particular order) and for my money I think adds a certain air to the book that takes it from just an interesting read to a totally enthralling one.

I will admit that I have read and reviewed this book before but for some reason when I put in the ISBN it has given me a different binding?
Anyway even though the writer is Molly Perham the reason why I was drawn to this book and in fact the series was the illustrations of Robert Ingpen whose slightly surreal illustrations have already captured my imagination.
That coupled to the fact that this is a Dragons Dream book (which is later connected to yep you guessed it Paper Tiger) only increases my joy in reading it. Sadly this edition had a slight damage to the spine so of course I had to fix it - which in turn meant it was only proper to read it again which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Possibly not the most scholarly of books but a great place to start off exploring more on the subject

Perfect timing for me. This book came in after I finished the fifth Iron Druid book and I've been fascinated by the various gods and goddesses Atticus has known...and it was interesting to read info on those mentioned, as well as preview some that I'd like to see in future books.

Lots of interesting stories. Set sometimes was represented as a hippo? Weird. =)
