Tim Fisher is the premier bird expert in the Philippines and I have the privilege of knowing him and birding with him. His book is the only available introductory guide to birding in the Philippines. It is reasonably priced and good enough for the average or beginner birder. Aside from a few details: the white-throated kingfisher photo is from a subspecies found outside the Philippines thus it doesn't look like the local ones and a rather misleading info about Haribon Foundation running a birdwatching society, the book is not bad.

A little book close to my heart, for a fascination with birds, initially for diabolically wrong reasons. Somewhat redeemed over time, I hope, when that fascination turned into something beautiful and truly worth sharing.
