This is a thought provoking book, that teaches children valuable lessons in kindness and love. It does this by telling the story of Bat Dog, a dog in desperate need of a home. This dog has unusual features (bat ears), and because of this struggles to find a family that loves them. This book takes children on Bat Dog's journey to find their forever home. Ultimately, it shows children that perfection is not the key to love. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and suggest it should be aimed at children around Year 1, dependent on reading level.
