Some of her tales are rife with mischief-making faeries, brownies, and other fae creatures. More tormented souls--shape shifters, vampires, and maybe a zombie or two--stalk across the pages of other stories. When not writing, she's cooking, gardening, or paddling the local creeks with her husband.

I have read and loved all the Highland Garden series. Gregor and Emily's story was fanfreakentastic! I never want to go into details on reviews because I hate when I read a review that gives way to much information and spoils the book for me. I will say I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it.
I purchased this as part of a 7 author bundle called HISTORICAL SERENADE: Seven Tales of Romance.
This is the 5 story of Dawn Marie-Hamilton series called HIGHLAND GARDENS. I felt lost with the people and their connections to the past or future. So I will say, this is not a stand alone to fully enjoy the story.
It really wasn't clear why the h was sent back in time, except for maybe a child being mischievous. This is a short novella, and I didn't think the character's were flushed out enough.
There are troublesome pixes who for no other reason want to cause trouble. I do enjoy stories on fae and such, but this one was just ok.
SPOILER - SPOILER - The h becomes upset when the H saves her life and that of a child because he killed two men. HELLO - villains had a knife to your throat. She lost points with me in that. END OF SPOILER!!
We have lovemaking, within marriage, heat level 4.5 out of 5 and described I think only twice.
We have no cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, no romance and spice.
This was a cute story but different from the other inasmuch as the other stories were about Faeries messing with the mortals and this one was about Pixies doing it, always blowing Pixie Dust in Gregor and Emily's faces. It was a sweet little love story.
I don't remember graphic sex in the last one but there was really graphic sex in this one. Which was a little unnecessary with it being only 105 pages.

This story gripped me from the beginning when the heroine, Emily, searches for two children she is supposed to be babysitting in present-day North Carolina. Boys will be boys, and they head to a forbidden fairy mound behind the local garden center. One boy disappears in an odd mist, and when the other boy pushes Emily, she falls through the mist as well. Found by the unlikely hero, Gregor, after he nearly kills her while hunting a white stag, I enjoyed how they spent most of the book denying their feelings, even when forced to marry. The book’s pace was fast and kept me turning pages late into the night. I enjoyed how the story flashed from the Blue Ridge Mountains to ancient Scotland, and how each character handled the problems that arose
