Outlaws, train robbers, good men, and opportunities all lie in the West, and lives of loneliness or perhaps unhappily arranged marriages are what await these women if they stay in the East – which doesn’t leave them with much of a choice.
Though the West is wild and unsettled, there is one remarkable machine that can tie it to the refined and civilized Eastern part of the country, and that is the luxurious Locomotive 1325.
Some travel West to find the love of their lives, others travel West to escape a love that will ruin their lives, but regardless of the reason, each woman discovers that the West is full of incredible dangers and unprecedented opportunities that will prove to her how strong she really is.
The Locomotive Brides Series follows the journeys of five different young women as they head west to find the answers they are looking for, the renewed hope they desperately need, or to embrace the opportunity to start again.
From the very first book, you will be hooked on the spirits of each of these brides, unable to set your book down until you reach the end. This is an incredible series that shows the determination of each of these young women, and can be enjoyed as a full series or each as a standalone book.

WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER WITHOUT THE EXTRAS, BUT STILL GOOD
In all fairness, maybe if I hadn’t already read the extras, the whole thing would have been good, and really, the extras were good stories anyway, so rereading them wasn’t so bad. The best part, though, was the beginning, where all the stories focus on one locomotive, which apparently traveled through most of the country at some point or other. All the brides in those stories had to take this particular locomotive to their new lives. One story even contained a wandering woman who ended up riding the rails with all the other hobos for a year before she finally found love herself. I’m fascinated with a lot of things having to do with the Midwest in the 1800’s, fiction and nonfiction, and the expansion of the railroad is one thing that interests me, so these stories were interesting, if nothing else, because they focused on something I was interested in anyway, but they were all good stories.
It is exactly what I think of when I want to read a short story. It is a quick and enjoyable read, but time passes by quicker with less details than I would hope to read. I loved the concept of the locomotive and almost wish I saw the story overlap more than just the train. But each was different and unique in their own way. Definitely an enjoyable read. I'd love to read more in this series. I even laughed to see one author really try to pull off a story of a woman getting tied to a railroad track.
This ebook also includes several more mail order bride short stories. I was sad to see The Locomotive Brides Series end around 40% into the ebook.
I enjoyed the short stories except for all of the times where there was poor editing. Some errors include grammar, spelling, missing words in a sentence, calling a character by the wrong name, phrases that were not used in that particular historical era and mistakes using words that sound the same but have been used with the incorrect meaning(waive for the word wave, bore for boar and many others.) These mistakes take away from the reader's enjoyment of the tales told.
Always enjoy these mail order bride stories. So sweet with a little controversy that all lead to an HEA. The women are usually treated with respect by the man they eventually marry.
These five books are a real bargain. Each one is a good enjoyable book to read. I didn't know about all of the extra short stories. Some I had already read. Altogether this is a great bargain.
The Locomotive Brides Series by Christian Michael is a nice clean mail order bride series. Each is a stand alone. They are heart warming short stories. Thanks
