Ivan isn't your regular Omega, and he's proud of it.
After a horrendous break-up with his ex-Alpha for being unfaithful, Ivan decides to embrace life as a dancer at a famous club called Club Halo. What he didn't bank on was that he'd be neighbors with his fated mate, Jack Kalmin of the Kalmin wolf pack. Too bad he didn't believe in fated mates or Alphas for that matter.
Now that his world is rocked with the presence of a brooding Alpha next door to his dream condo, what will he do to keep the peace? Can he ignore the chemistry blossoming between them?
Hello there! Penny Bloom here! This book has all you needz! Baybeez, drama, feisty omegas and a HEA with NO, absolutely NO cliffhangers. I mean, who does cliffhangers anymore? Sheesh! Not with my stories!
Mated to the Alpha Next Door is the first book in the Alpha’s Next Door series by author Penny Bloom. I had a lot of problems with this book. For one the author makes a huge deal out of MM pregnancy so much so it is in the title area when you go to buy the book. The sex scenes are not detailed they are rushed, almost like the author didn’t want to tell them to me. So I think if your big draw is MM sex you should have MM sex in the book not just token scenes with very little detail. It is totally okay to leave out sex but don’t make it the draw to the book if that is not what is in the book is all I am saying there. Wow, never thought I would be the one going give me sex… first time for everything I guess because there is not enough in this book. I think it is marketed terribly by putting that in the title area. This is more on a romantic side and non-sexual. Also please slow down when you are telling me a story. This one felt rushed needed some expansion. Now once you get past all that. You have Ivan the omega without an Alpha. He wants it to remain that way. I loved that he is independent! Yes no doormat he is strong I love that. He knows his worth. He does sexy stripteases for a living, this is how he meets Jack. Jack is part of the Kalmin pack (wish this was expanded and let me know a little more about this) and he is part of Kalmin construction. A head Alpha. (again, wanted that expanded on) I felt things were told to me rather than shown. Is this book okay? Only if you go in knowing a few things, yes, it is a good story in there. This just was not the story for me.
Mated to the Alpha Next Door is the first book in the Alpha's Next Door series by Penny Bloom. This is a super cute alpha/omega billionaire mpreg short story. I liked how independent Ivan is and how he has been hurt before by another alpha and so he has sworn off all alphas. However, with a new expensive apartment to pay for he embraces his dancing abilities and becomes a dancer at the famous club called Club Halo which is an alpha club, so he is forced to cater to them. He meets Jack while giving him a private dance. Little does he know that Jack is actually the owner of the club. However, Jack has also been hurt by a past relationship, but there is just something about Ivan that he can't resist. Imagin Ivan's surprise when he finds out that Jack is his neighbor. How will they manage to keep their hands off of each other? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I must say that this book was unique but rather wonderful! The storyline was filled with wonder & intrigue as we are introduced to a different side of shifters who fall in love! This story will warn your heart & I highly recommend it!!
So maybe it's because I've never read anything from this author and she's writes a specific kind of novel that's just starting at one page and it jumps to the end the next. It was a little silly and I felt zero connection from characters because there was no time or progression.
