Once cartoonist Pran struck upon an idea of a wise oldman who solves problems with his sharp intellect. Thus CHACHA CHAUDHARY was born in 1971.Tall and robust SABU, who is an inhabitant of planet Jupiter, gave Chaudhary an ideal company. A combination of wisdom and strength was formed to tackle any difficult task. It is said that " Chacha Chaudhary's brain works faster than a computer". Though both fight the criminals and tricksters, each episode ends with a touch of humour. The duo perform in lighter vein. The CHAUDHARY family consists of his wife Bini, a fat sharp tongue woman, Sabu, Rocket - the dog and Dag- Dag, an old truck who is half human- half machine. Chacha Chaudhary is the most popular Indian comics. More than 10 million readers enjoy this series regularly in newspapers and comic books in ten languages. A T.V. serial based on the comics has crossed 500 episodes and still continue to be telecast on premier channel "Sahara ONE".
Pran Kumar Sharma (born August 15, 1938), better known as Pran, is one of the most successful Indian cartoonists.
Pran graduated with a Master of Arts (Political Science) degree. He then completed a four-year course in Fine Arts from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai.
Pran began his career in 1960 as a cartoonist for the Delhi-based newspaper Milap with comic strip Daabu. In 1969, he sketched Chacha Chaudhary for the Hindi magazine Lotpot, which made him famous. Pran has also created other cartoon characters like Shrimatiji, Pinki, Billoo, Raman, Channie Chachi and others, which are regularly published in Indian magazines.
Maurice Horn, the editor of World Encyclopedia of comics, has described him as "Walt Disney of India" in World Encyclopedia of comics.
Pran received a Lifetime Achievement Award 2001, from Indian Institute of Cartoonists. He was also included in People of the year 1995 by Limca Book of Records for popularizing comics in India.
I had always fond of this character. Since my childhood the only magazine I liked and read every other issue, is of Chacha Chaudhary. Now to sale more this is available in English mostly, but at that time it was only in Hindi. Amazing memories with this magz. Funny and humorous Chacha, and dumb but super strong Sabu. Even now it has its magic. Not from that time though, maybe because I was a child or maybe 'cos now I'm more mature leaving that childishness hidden somewhere. But that smile on my face while going through every single page of this made me remember those childhood days and I'm this gonna put this rating onto it. For me it's 4.5/5.0
Not as good as the classics , but still is a good fun
Picked this up since Chacha Chaudhary used to be one of my favorites growing up , and it was free to read with my prime subscription .
Pran , the creator of chacha Choudhary made this character as a typical Indian Punjabi elderly , who is smarter than a computer and solves mysteries , small and big ones , in a small rural town . He is accompanied by his pet vegetarian dog , his friend an alien with super strength from the planet Jupiter and his wife .
Back in the days I used to read these books , Chacha Chaudhary used to be about charm and intellect . This book written predominantly in this day and age , when Pran has now passed away , and this book comes across a very simplistic book with no wit or mystery solving.
That said , it wasnt a book that made me angry or bored or frustrated , it was just fun and simple
I am giving it this rating as it refreshed my childhood memories of reading hard paper comics. I liked the digital version of it. Digital version has made it so convenient to download and access it. Also navigation is so nice and these comic books are so colorful. I love reading this for my son and myself.
Light-hearted entertainment for children and adults alike. Witticisms of chacha Chaudhary never fails to enthrall. Recommended for children and adults who want to a short-read.
I loved these books in childhood :) and I have a set of hard copies too! Reading again on Kindle unlimited was pure joy! I'd recommend everyone to read this amazing treasure house of witty and humourous collection
Perfect for kids, good morale booster! I would recommend this book to al who can see my review, but honestly who reads a review for a comic book anyway, ah well Amazon does it apparently.
All time favourite chaha Chaudhary and sabu... their interesting stories and solving mysteries like they are team and family to help the others and needy... Also, Chachajis brain and Sabu's power ultimate combination...
Nabnkmvxxg you are you doing today I slept in the meeting to talk with you and I will have the opening of being a friend ☺️😂😂🤣 bhi hai y kuch nahi honi chaiye jo bhi unka man who has worked with him
The original/nostalgic feeling is no more, its evident that it's not written by the late Pran sir. Somebody else is just using the creation to earn money.
These books carry me back to my childhood days. Great stories which are funny and witty. Recommended to both children and adults. My favorite comic book of all time.
The way the smart stories are written and pictures to show the intelligence of Chacha Choudhary and Power of Sabu is marvellous. Also, it give us the moral of helping others in need.
As a child I was very fond of Chacha Chaudhary comics, this did bring back some memories. It's like a side read when you want some time off from your usual reads.
