Fujita Fujio's is the fullest biography of Michio Itō, a sound work which provides details not yet available in any English source, with a standard account of Itō's relation with Ezra Pound, W. B. Yeats, and related figues in avant garde London in the second decade of the twentieth century. The title might be translated 'Michio Itō's World of Dance: Toward a Theatre of the Sun'. The fullest study of Itō in English remains Helen Caldwell's useful but dated Michio Ito: The Dancer and His Dances, although soon (as of July 2017) Caldwell's work probably will be superseded by that of an excellent young scholar working on the subject.
