Jocelyn Cotter had left her hard teaching job in inner city Boston. She was looking forward to taking employment as a middle school teacher in Hampton, New Hampshire. But once she moved there, she found strange things occurring in the small village. Did the occurrences have anything to do with an old manor house that had burned down years ago? And who was the strange woman who kept appearing? As Jocelyn sets out on a quest to find answers, she learns that those whom she had interviewed have ended up dead. Thinking that she may be the next victim, Jocelyn turns to a sheriff's deputy for help but strange things begin happening to him, too.
