The Four Faces of Woman is a powerful guide to greater Self-Awareness. If you've ever asked questions like 'who am I really?' or 'what does it all mean?' then The Four Faces of Woman has some answers for you. These faces are the ones you wear yourself. They are the faces that give you strength and the ones that disempower you. You will learn how to connect with the faces that emerge your eternal beauty, power and joy and what to do about the ones that limit and undermine you. You will find tools and simple, yet profound insights that enable you to be your truest, most loving and powerful self.
There are four faces that women show the world. There is the Eternal Face, the innocent and genuine self that we all experienced as young children. There is the Traditional Face which we portray as we try to become what everyone else wants us to be. There is the Modern Face which serves as a rebellion from all that the world wants us to be. Finally, there is the Face of the Shakti. This is the face that we wear as we journey back to the Eternal Face. It is in this state that we reclaim our authentic power and open ourselves to the possibilities.
The Four Faces of Woman looks to self understanding and self love no matter which face we might be showing at a given time. Part of the process is to fall back into old habits so that we can know and love ourselves in deeper ways. Ultimately, this is the only way that we can reclaim our Shakti powers: the powers to withdraw, let go, tolerate, accept, discern, decide, face, and cooperate.
I would readily recommend The Four Faces of Woman to all my female friends. This book is empowering, not in a financially successful, kick butt, take over the world sense but in a much more important way. To stand in our own selves. How truly amazing would that be?
I found this book in a little free library. The author had given this book to a friend and wrote a message in the cover. Four faces embraces Shakti. I took it as a sign to read this since I was seeing Shakti everywhere I went. The stage in life I would be in is the second face. The society pleaser. I am a mother, in my assigned role in life, but still finding my own eternal face. The writing was at first comprehensive but towards the end she seemed to rush through thoughts and it seemed a bit scattered.
I appreciated the insights and spiritual connection of being to the human condition. I am not the target audience of the is book, but welcome living in a world where reading this is accessible and informative.
Learn from all, listen to few, trust myself.
My takeaway. Am I living this life for … Who and what is important? What will allow me to be happy?
Anyone who has read Tolle's "The power of Now" should read this!!!! I'm loving it and finding it very helpful. It's for women but men can relate if they enjoy Tolle also. I'll let you know how it goes.
Enlightening narratives from the author and her experiences alongside other women who are on the path to transformation. Uses appreciative inquiry and spiritual powers as tools for achieving empowerment of the Shakti face.
