The Hinterland Doctrine

Rate this book
Japanese Psycho in Westminster. Light and the rest of the cast of Death Note are in (UK inspired x 11) politics and wear really nice suits. Light is an MP trying to climb up the ladder, L is a crafty lawyer and PR man, and together they do horrible things! It's AU. I don't care. It's has every warning going. I don't care. It's a political satire/psychological woohoo/mystery/unhealthy romance (because I like those in stories) with lots of horribleness. I don't care. It's a first-person narrative. I still don't care. There's a lot of swearing and things which at times roam the MA line. I don't approve of the actions of the people in this story and their views are not mine. Did I mention that it's AU?

This death note fanfiction is going on my Goodreads because it was 700k words and caused me more emotional turmoil than anything else I've read this year Jess this is all your fault so crazy that this is single-handedly responsible for a 5% drop in my average

*No spoilers but contains bastardized quotations

This fanfiction ruined my fucking life and made me fail 3 exams. It will probably make me fail 10 more. This is the best book I’ve read this year. It’s caused me so much pain and suffering and I love it. I want to frame every paragraph on my wall. I want to hand-bind a physical copy of it if only to touch it with my own hands.

It’s the most beautiful thing I've ever known and I hate it. I never thought that it was possible to love something so completely, or that it could be everything that I've ever wanted, but never knew that I did. And I found this fanfiction.

I will never be the same. I’ll never stop thinking about it.

I cried because I could never write like this and then I cried because everyone was so doomed and then I cried because they weren’t doomed ENOUGH.
