Rob Cubbon was born in Kent an awfully long time ago. He now lives mostly in Thailand running a design business, selling courses and t-shirts, blogging and engaging in other creative pastimes.

A few years ago you could find him stuck behind a computer in a soulless office block in central London.

Being your own boss is an incredibly liberating experience but it can be difficult as well. There never seems to be enough hours in the day for what we want to do.

Rob is driven to help people experience the positive side of entrepreneurship. To encourage others to live their dreams doing what they want to do - and to get paid doing so!

“Your movement towards the new freedom begins with a single thought; the thought becomes a belief, which becomes the realization of a dream."

Rob Cubbon has written a great book that every aspiring entrepreneur needs to read. This book contains Rob’s best material as he delivers the success of his business in an open and honest approach that I found to be inspiring as well as ground in hard reality the “risks” of keeping a traditional job that relies on an income provided by someone else who decides how much your talent is worth.

As Rob states early on in the book:
“People with a traditional job are drip fed by a constant income. They rely on it. Their expenditure expands or contracts to fit it. This is dumb."

The New Freedom offers up a new way to look at life, with a New Freedom Mindset that throws aside all conventional and traditional thinking for something new and simple. It isn’t obsessing about the latest trends or trying to get a bigger salary, better car or to have the largest and most gorgeous house on the street. When you commit to the New Freedom you can break away from all that and create your own Freedom Mindset. This book shows us exactly who to do that!

Rob shows us that freedom of employment is more than just a dream but could become your reality if you hunker down and make it happen.

in this book Rob Cubbon teaches us how to:
— Cut expenditures os we can life a freer life;
— scale up your income through passive income
— move your expenses, banking and taxes into the cloud;
— protect your devices from theft with various apps;
— manage your taxes and banking while living on the road;
— arrange for health care when traveling in various countries;
— generate additional income streams while living abroad;
— travel with family and schooling abroad
— travel slow and develop a 'home base' you can settle down in

Rob’s book is supported by interviews and examples of over 200 entrepreneurs living the dream as they travel the world while making a living online. The stories are of real people doing what they love. Filled with practical tips as well as suggestions for female travelers, families traveling with kids, or visiting dangerous areas, you have to know how to function while on the road.

In the part on “watch the thinker” Rob gives practical advice on dealing with negative thinking while trying to launch a business as a traveling entrepreneur. This negative thinking can lead to self sabotage and burn out. We can live positively by avoiding negative arguments or focusing on things that don’t matter, such as shiny objects. Rob suggest meditation, affirmations, and looking after your mind by reading and practicing gratitude.

In the last part of the book, Rob provided a host of places for digital nomads to set up a life and travel doing what they love. There is a list of places from all over the world that serve as base camps for people working online and traveling.

Your Packing Checklist:
This is a great section for getting your traveling supplies in order. Rob provides a list of essential items such as the right backpack, backups for data, earphone, audio and video equipment, and the right cards for your ATM.

Finally we have some great interviews from other entrepreneurs such as Avery Breyer, Akash Karia, Nora Dunn, Jodi Ettenberg, Chris Backe, Jimmy Naraine, and Shayna Oliveira. These interviews are great and give us a real look into the lives of the people who are making a life by helping others to make theirs.

The Bottom Line on “The New Freedom”:
Why should you read this book?
Well, it’s a great little book that can be read in under two hours, and, the value it contains is excellent. You will be able to peek into the live son people traveling and living their dreams. You will be introduced to dozens of apps that can help you to set up your biz if you are on the move, or from your home based location. If The New Freedom is what you are into, working from online such as Rob does, while creating digital products, then you definitely want to check out the book.

Cubbon's writing is thought provoking and with Covid 19 already having changed the working life for many of use, I'd be surprised of not more and more people are re-thinking the balance and priority between work, family and play; I already have.

"Is it really money that you want, or is it happiness? Is it possessions you want, or freedom from your attachment to them?"

As Cubbon puts it, there are two sides to financial freedom: earning more and spending less.

Location independent work, digital nomads, mindset change, importance of fitness and affirmation, networking and being happy are all part of Cubbons view of the new freedom.

Lots of ideas for anyone who's considering stepping away from the rat race.

"The new freedom is flipping a switch in your mind that makes you happy regardless of the money you have"
