Friend of Sinners: Taking Risks to Reach the Lost

Rate this book
Friend of Sinners is not safe for those who want to continue to stand far off and judge the world for being lost. It is for those willing to take risks to lose their religion so others can experience a real relationship with Jesus Christ. It will be messy but worth it!

My current favorite “Christian” read. Pastor Kelly reveals how he and his wife, Tosha, created Vanguard Church in Colorado Springs, CO., a church that is in its 26th year. He details how they desire to have Vanguard be “friends of sinners” as Christ was a friend of sinners. This desire grew from a sensitivity to many “Christian” churches spent more time judging or polarizing individuals on dos and don’ts rather than welcoming all as they are (as Jesus did).

Great, short read.

Needs an editing pass, but otherwise a worthy read. Excellent examples from the early and continuing struggles of a church dedicated to reaching the agnostic and atheists in their community.
