My Thoughts:

There are two draw-backs to the Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, ESV. The first is the type-font text size. It is only 8.3. To compare this type-font size to other Bibles: The Gospel Transformation, ESV Bible is 9 point and it’s in bold print. The NRSV Journal the Word Artisan Collection Bible is 9 point and also in bold print. The She Reads Truth in the Christian Standard translation is 8.5 type-font size and not in bold print. I’ve used these particular Bibles as examples because I own all of them. I’ve laid all of them out and looked up the same Bible verses to compare their readability. I noticed the Gospel Transformation Bible in ESV is in 9 point bold print. In addition, the individual letters of the words are relaxed and not close together. This last point makes the Gospel Transformation Bible in ESV the easiest to read. It is the easiest on the eyes.

A second factor to consider is the Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, ESV is double column. I’ve heard several Bible readers remark their preference to single column Bibles.

By creating a smaller type-font text size and having a double column, this makes the Bible smaller and less heavy. Remember there is 777 pages of reference material in the back of this Bible.

What I love about the Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, ESV.

The 777 pages of reference. This is like having several Bible reference books in ONE single edition.
The margin study helps. I love the organization of having this help on the margins beside the Scriptures and not at the bottom of the pages.
I love the single black lines between each column of verses. This is on every Bible text page. It is the way this Bible is arranged. This gives an organized feel. It is aesthetically pleasing.
I’ve never had the opportunity of holding and studying a Thompson Chain-Reference Bible. It has been a joy to discover and study this Bible!

Final Thoughts:
This is not a journaling type Bible with thick pages for use of pens and highlighters, etc. A pencil can be used. The pages are thin and transparent already.

The Thompson Chain-Reference Bible is such a useful tool when it comes to reading the Bible. When you want to know more about a Bible verse, all you have to do is look to see what other verses are related to it. A lot of the verses are related to one another in some way shape or form. Knowing which verses are relatable to each other helps to understand the concepts and stories in the Bible, which can help a little bit more than just reading itself.

This is one of the greatest Bibles you can purchase for your studies. It is very well made and can last a very long time. One of the best unique features within the Thompson Chain-Reference Bible is the referencing between the scriptures. Taking just one concept or subject from a Bible verse and following it the next, makes it all the more interesting. It would be a great investment as it can be passed down to your offspring. I feel that this Bible can last many generations in your family.

I received this Bible from the publisher, Kirkbride. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. All of the pictures in this Bible review shown above are my own pictures.
