after this, i got one more novel to go from her and i'd finish all 20 of her published novels until the next one she releases. whoop.
i just wanna say the reason why it took me almost a month to read this was because.... i got distracted....... by things. yeah......
hiroya is the uke and he's a college freshie. when he was a kid his parents were always busy with work and because he was constantly without them, he asked god to give him the power to allow the people he loved to be with him. god then gave him the ability to see the future. his parents didn't believe him at first, but then they realized what he told them actually came true, and they didn't even know what to do with him, but it freaked them out. when he was 7 years old, he dreamed about the death of his father dying in a car crash, and sure enough, it happened. he told his mother this after the fact, and she slapped him saying the death was his fault because he wished for it to happen.
bitch mama shook something inside of hiroya and he had it in his head that his dreams were a curse. after that, he shut himself into his close-knit bubble and refused to interact with other people, worried that if he ever built a relationship with them, he would cause them to be hurt. when he entered college, he wanted to start anew, and so he moved out of his mother's house (who remarried and became pregnant, and hiroya didn't want to cause harm to the baby). he still wanted to be around people, without being CLOSE to them, and so he convinced himself to work part-time at a family restaurant with the promise that he'll quit if he got close to anyone.
pretty much everyone who worked with him thought he was a weird asf introvert, except for one person. a high school senior named takatori who didn't shed any mercy on hiroya when he made a mistake, but would also appreciate and acknowledge hiroya's hard work. consequently, hiroya started to have feelings for him, but then he started to have dreams of takatori getting hurt.
takatori is also interested in him, and confessed, but... hiroya is trying to run away from him to protect him.
the book is divided into two parts. the first part is about getting to know hiroya and his past, and takatori trying to get close to him despite hiroya's struggle to get away. the second part is when hiroya's childhood friend, who knows about his past, started working at the same place, and thus, trouble occurs between hiroya and takatori.
i thought this book was going to be totally whatever but much to my surprise, i enjoyed reading this. it's such a chill, predictive, shoujo-esque story. don't expect anything deep or thought-provoking, but if you want to pass the time and be pleasantly amused and entertained in the process with drama here and there, this book is for you.
i liked the seme here. love it when the seme treat the uke right from THE BEGINNING. it's misao so the shoujo feels weren't a surprise. i say it's on the same level as vol 2 of the mushi series (if not way, way more...). misao does erotic scenes justice with her imagery.
she also mentioned in her afterword that her mama reads her books..... damn. kudos to her mama.
