5☆ Beautifully illustrated. The Perfect Bedtime story.

Go to Sleep is a beautifully written bedtime story that encourages parent's and children to read together or read alone or with siblings.

The illustrations are simply delightful. Bright and relatable children will simply fall in love with the characters.

I don't know about you... but my mum always told me to count sheep when I couldn't sleep. This is exactly what this adorable book is all about.

Tansy the sheep is struggling to Sleep and is convinced one of the flock of sheep has gone missing.
So Tansy sets out to find the sheep.

Marion has incorporated humour, education, and a wonderdul talking point to share with your children.
Everything a bedtime story needs.

So snuggle up together and prepare to get lost in Tansy's magical dream world.

I highly recommend this adorable book.
It's simply perfect for all ages to share, whether it be reading alone or together.

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

One night Tansy the Sheep couldn’t get to sleep, no matter how hard she tried. Her mum told her to shut her eyes and think about something she liked, but she liked lots of things and didn’t know which to choose.

A Barn Owl heard her asking the other sheep how to get to sleep. It swooped in low and told her to start counting sheep, that would get her to sleep. Unfortunately, Tansy counting sheep only made things worse and now all the sheep were awake too.

Go to Sleep! is an amusing children’s book. It is exquisitely illustrated with fabulous full-page drawings by Sarah-Leigh Wills that add lots of fun to the story.

The plot is engaging and I can see little children being fully invested in trying to find out if Tansy ever managed to get to sleep.

This is a lovely book that would be perfect for a bedtime read, or even a class read. This is going to be one of those books that children ask to have read to them over, and over, again.

*** Note: I received e-copy of this books as a part of blog tour. Many thanks to author and Rachel for providing me a copy of this book. ***

Go To Sleep is animal themed funny and cute bedtime story about the little sheep Tansy who couldn’t go to sleep. In trying to sleep by following barn owl’s advice she found out something was wrong in the field. As the blurb said it had funny twist.

Tansy was nice little sheep who was cute, innocent, cared for others and tried to do something good. Barn own and Jack- the dog was also great in the story. Writing was captivating and easy for kids to understand. Storytelling was great that will catch kids’ attention. All illustrations were colorful and eyes catching specially all cute white fluffy sheep.

When I couldn’t sleep I didn’t count sheep but I remember my mom telling me to count stars when we slept outside under the sky in summer vacations now I read books if I can’t sleep. 😉 It was kind of funny when sheep was counting sheep in the story. Kids will find it amusing.

Overall, it was great bedtime story that parents would love to read with their kids.

#8 on The Gittle List 2017: Go To Sleep!, written by Marion Adams and illustrated by Sarah-Leigh Wills, is the story of Tansy the sheep who can’t sleep. And also is bit math-challenged. What unfolds is woolly mayhem as a sheep who can’t sleep — and can’t count — insists that one of the flock has gone missing. Just darn funny with sweet, fluffy illustrations by Ms. Wills. The best part of the story is Tansy speculating what may have happened to the missing sheep. Kids will enjoy the opportunity at the end of the story to properly count the sheep.

This is a charming story that children will adore and adults (they are important too - they often have to read them after all) will want to return to over and over again. A wonderful bedtime tale that turns counting sheep into quite an adventure!

The vocabulary is right up my street and will gently enhance a child's nature literacy introducing them to teasels (one of my favourite plants ever) tors and gorse bushes that some children may only encounter through the pages of a book.

The word building is good and the counting opportunities great including a silly mistake which I bet nearly every child has made at least once when counting up a group including themselves.

The illustrations are delightful - simple, lots to look at and learn and sheep so woolly and cloud like you just want to bury your face in them!

Marion Adams and Sarah-Leigh Wills deserve this book to be a huge success. Congratulations.

My 4 year old daughter hasn’t always been one for sleep. Once she gets into the land of nod, she stays there for a good few hours unless I end up leaving the bed. So, when I had the chance to read a book about sleep, I grabbed hold of it with two hands and was delighted to read it to my little girl. Here is what she thought of the book:

Baby TWG: ‘I like animals! The sheep has a really boofee smile! I can count already so I didn’t need to learn that. I was too busy looking at the doggy to actually go to sleep but mumma made me laugh when she read it to me.’

TWG: I thought the illustrations were beautifully done and incredibly eye-catching and, whilst I knew my daughter wouldn’t drop off to the land of nod straight away, I knew she enjoyed the story due to the animals and my over excited way of telling the story. Easy to read regardless of the age, I think this is a lovely story for children of all ages.

This was an adorable tale of one little sheep you simply COULD NOT go to sleep! Whatever is a sheep to do? I mean, they can't exactly count themselves...or can they? Well, wonder no more as you follow Tansy on her quest to reach Dreamland, but be prepared for pitfalls along the way. How so? Well, let's just say that when we're needing sleep, sometimes the things we try don't turn out 100% perfect...which in this case leads to a potential disaster, possible rescue, and return of peace of mind in the end...along with a Tansy that is FINALLY able to catch some shut eye. Just don't look at the rest of the flock, okay? 😉

A joyfully fun read at bedtime or anytime for kiddos of all ages with illustrations that will make you smile...and invite YOU to count along!

As a parent of seven year old twins, I’m still not sure what children have against sleep. I love to sleep and I wish that they did too! One day I will enjoy waking them up very early in the morning but for now, the trick to getting your reluctant child to sleep remains a mystery.

Go To Sleep by Marion Adams tells the story of Tansy the sheep, a typical lamb or finds it hard to fall asleep. With the rest of her flock sleeping Tansy takes the advice of a passing owl that counting sheep will help her to fall asleep. But all doesn’t go to plan and Tansy gets very worried and ends up waking the flock. I’m sure that all parents will identify with the end of Go To Sleep!!

Overall this is a lovely book. The illustrations by Sarah-Leigh Wills are great and it is a sweet little story that will be enjoyed by under fives.

I read Go to Sleep with my four year old son. He found it quite amusing to read about Tansy, a young sheep who can't get to sleep and is therefore advised to count, yes you've guessed it, sheep! But she gets confused and thinks that one of the sheep is missing. By the end, all the sheep are awake apart from Tansy, who is tired after her sheep counting escapades.

It's a sweet and fun story, about that age-old problem of getting to sleep at night. There are some lovely illustrations and at the end there is the chance to help Tansy count the sheep. Basically, I'd say this is the perfect bedtime read and my son really enjoyed it.

A cute bedtime story about a little sheep who couldn’t get to sleep. Counting sheep takes on a new twist in this fun read.

Aimed at children 3 – 7 years old. This is a wonderful story to read to your little ones, and for the older range of the age group to read themselves.

The illustrations by Sarah-Leigh Wills are delightful.
