This had two of the most off-putting “heroes” ever. There’s social climbing doctor David and whiney, clingy folk singer Chad. Shockingly for a vintage romance, Julie chooses nursing over both of these losers. But have no fear — the author provides a last-minute man for Julie to glom onto lest we think she’ll get *too* serious about her career.

It’s good for an older book. In today’s context, this story has some offensive terminology and sexist point of views. But I found it entertaining and liked the ending.
