Lord Darkland built his imposing mansion in Leeds, married for the sake of reputation and fathered a daughter, Beatrice with the love of his life, Rose, who was also his chamber maid.

As expected, his wife Sarah was enraged by his affair, but had little choice but to accept the arrangement such as it was. That is until Darkland’s death, which left his beloved Beatrice orphaned on her tenth birthday.

Beatrice was safeguarded by her father’s butler, as the two bore the wrath of the widowed step-mother, Sarah. Alone they suffered under her…

Two centuries later Dan, the pedophilic writer, acquires Darkland house and moves his new wife and step-daughter in from London. Bea, the step-daughter loathes and fears this vile man, and has paranormal encounters in this horrid house, far from her beloved London city. Voices call her name and visions appear to her.

Can the wrongs of the past be righted by this tormented young girl, in a house crying out for redemption and understanding?

The latest chilling offering from this author’s pen will invoke imaginings of aggrieved spirits and torment…

Clarice Black is not a terrible writer. Her stories lack.character development and depth, but they aren't terrible ideas.
