I really enjoyed this book. I initially only sat down to have a quick read, and hours later I found that I had ploughed through 25 percent of the book. It’s great when you don’t want to stop reading. As far as characters go, I love Blake’s ability to hypnotise people quite quickly, when he needs to interrogate them. This definitely makes him unique, and sets him apart from the normal ex-special forces operator. Blake is sent to the morgue to inspect the body of Javed Rahimi, an Iranian Refugee. With Javed living the quiet life in England for the past 5 years, and working as a cleaner in a prison, his murder is quite a surprise to the authorities. Mi5 are quick to step in and take over the investigation when Intelligence points to Javed being more than just a cleaner. Blake’s boss thought it would be a good idea to send him into the prison undercover, where he could hopefully uncover something more on Javed. When a couple of prisoners manage to escape, this changes Blake’s focus, especially when one of the prisoners kidnaps his brother who is a scientist. When Blake and Alex find out what sort of scientist he is and where he works, the need to track down the prisoners becomes a much bigger and more urgent priority, especially if they want to save possibly millions of innocent lives. This is the second Adrian Wills story that I have read, and I’m really enjoying the series. I thoroughly recommend this book.

This is a great book and so far a fantastic series. Adrian weaves a story full of surprises and twist. Keeps you reading longer that I plan. The end is a surprise also. I totally enjoyed reading it and am going to read the next. Adrian is a talented author for sure. I highly recommend you get the book and see if I'm right.

The Armageddon Virus

Tom Blake finds himself one place he'd rather not be. Working with another agent. Tom likes to work alone. And, from the beginning this agent doesn't seem to be worth her salt and it may cost Tom his life. This was a very exciting book from beginning to end. I enjoyed it very much. It had a lot of twists and turns that mad for some nail biting moments.

I had been looking forward to this second book in the series and it did not disappoint. Again, Wills has hit upon a topical issue and applied his usual tactic of keeping the reader on the edge of his seat and eager to turn the page through this thriller. With a host of different locations and situations, it is easy to immerse yourself in this book totally and the attention to detail suggests an author who has carefully researched his subject and has knowledge of the forces. If there was one disappointment, it was that after reading the first novel, i had been keen to hear more of Blake's back story and learn about what made him tick to round out his character. However that does not detract from a great achievement, and in one way only makes me more eager to read more in the series. I hope there is more to come.

Enjoyable

Blake, as usual, saves the day. Noir quite sure about Jorgensen though. Too pushy. He's a liner, works the real deal alone.
The abrupt ending wasn't appreciated unless its the lead up to another adventure with Blake...... I hope

Tom isn't into murder solving, but when someone gets killed, his interest is piqued. A fast paced mystery/suspense that is just one more excellent story by a great author.
